Restored Session Video

Session 1: The setting is a junkyard, and Tom Berlin compares a car that has been messed up in a wreck to our lives that are messed up by sin. He introduces the idea of sin and invites viewers to think of some part of their lives that is in need of attention and repair.

Session 2: Tom Berlin explains the meaning of prevenient grace. Four individuals who have participated in the program “Celebrate Recovery” share how their lives were once a mess, and how, through God’s grace, they have experienced healing and are now living new and different lives.

Session 3: The theme is reconciliation. Tom Berlin invites Father Tom Murphy to share his understanding of confession and reconciliation in the Catholic tradition. Viewers are encouraged to listen for what is said about confession, community, and honesty, as these relate to reconciliation.

Session 4: We revisit our friends in “Celebrate Recovery” from Session 2, who recognized the mess in their lives and knew they needed to change. We learn how their lives have transformed since turning to God.

Session 5: Tom Berlin goes tandem-skydiving to explore and illustrate what it’s like, in skydiving and in life, to put our faith in others and in Christ.

Session 6: Tom Berlin visits a garage where a car has been restored. As we watch and hear what the process was like, we think about ways in which restoring a car is similar to restoring a person, and ways in which it is different.
