Learning to keep your eyes on Jesus is not easy.
When life gets difficult, we naturally want to focus on our problem, turning it over and over in our minds until we arrive at some sort of resolution. The Lord is inviting us to set our eyes on Him regardless of the circumstances. And as we focus on Him, He brings resolution. That resolution may simply be peace in the middle of the storm, but peace with Him gives us the ability to navigate even the most dire circumstances.
Forty days is long enough to establish new thought patterns, but becoming comfortable in the ambiguity of unresolved problems or threatening circumstances takes purposeful effort. Jesus is eager to teach us how to navigate life with our eyes on Him. And then, trust in the One who is leading us grows with each passing day.
