Exciting, thrilling, and unexpected complete joy of expression when I remember, singing and traveling all over this United States as manager of the Artist Singers.
A blessed youthful group of singers, whose achievements, successes, and a few failures, on the way, but although we didn't preplan our origins, we were yet able unplanned they evolved to great heights.
A new group, that everyone was able to sing or play an instrument, all; of us had common ground, all of us were active as a member and sang in our local church choirs.
Our group name defined what many of us did professionally or in our spare time, The Artist Singers were friends and with some blood relationships. Our group existence was based upon our belief in God, great singers, great singing and excellent musicians supporting our singing.
From our humble beginning appearing on the Anniversary service of a local radio announcer and ex-gospel singer George (Toby) Young and our many Television appearances n Mr. David. Sheppard Local gospel show, our many engagements, and travel and all of the co-worker singing groups. Our efforts to integrate gospel singing inviting nonblack groups to participate with us worshipping God.
Andrew J. Waters Jr. July 20, 2020 The Son of the late Supt. Elder Andrew J. Waters Sr. & Evangelist Grace L. Waters. Ordained Elder, Preacher /Teacher, a man of Faith, and Education facilitator. Was afforded the opportunity to research, create, and write,& implement both religious and secular Academic curriculum for Secondary and elementary student use. Has done missionary work and the work of an Evangelist in the USA and abroad. I also sang backup, wrote and arranged, and was road manager for several gospel singing groups. Given to the discipline of the study of the Bible and Academic professions in Secondary Education, Adult Education and Religious studies. My greatest achievement is accepting Salvation, and fulfilling God's purpose, (His will), for my life.
