This work is different from most of what has been published on the legacy of Teilhard because the editors have not labored to explicate his opus. Rather, after reading and re-reading every single published word of his to glean his spiritual teaching, they've captured the illuminating power of the "found prayers, poems, hymns" embedded in his work. They present them in a unifying format that might awaken in the cosmic contemplative who prays these hours what was so vitally awake in Teilhard. They hope they have created the context for encounter with Teilhard as Spiritual Master for the citizens of the universe.
This Book of Hours is divided into eight days, and further subdivided into Dawn, Day, Dusk, and Dark. The first seven days follow weekly evolutionary themes and concludes with an eighth day, "Tomorrow," to honor Teilhard's vision of the future.
